floating markets operating today are chiefly found in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam

A floating market, as the name casually suggests, is a market where goods are sold from boats. Most floating markets operating today are chiefly found in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Damnoen Saduak is a notable floating market in Ratchaburi, Thailand and a major tourist destination. It's an old and traditional way of selling vegetables and fruits. It's also the only place you can buy Malacca grapes, Chinese grapefruit, mangoes, bananas, and coconuts, as opposed to the countries usual markets.
And think about how much easier it is to SIT WHILE YOU SHOP, instead of having to walk from store to store. Now that's smart shopping!
